LAURA THE EXPLORER
RISING altitude, to raise money
What am i doing?
This September, I’m taking on the toughest challenge of my life—climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to raise vital funds for The Teesside Charity, The Partners Foundation & Teenage Cancer Trust. Over eight brutal days, I’ll battle exhaustion, freezing temperatures, and thin air as I push myself to the 5,895-metre summit of Africa’s highest mountain.
It won’t be easy. Every step will be a fight against altitude sickness, aching muscles, and mental fatigue. I’ll be sleeping in a tent, facing freezing nights, and trekking for hours each day through some of the harshest terrain on Earth. But I’m doing it to help those who are facing struggles far greater than this mountain.
Your support—whether through a donation or a few words of encouragement—will help keep me going when it gets tough. And believe me, it will get tough.
SUGGEST A SONG
I'll be walking 6 hours a day for 6 days.
Which equates to 2,160 minutes.
Based on the average length of a song i will need 720 songs to get me to the top of Kilimanjaro, and i want YOU to help me build the ultimate playlist!
Teesside Charity
Formerly the Middlesbrough and Teesside Philanthropic Foundation, the charity’s key function is to financially support community groups and charities based within Teesside, which promote social wellbeing and provide support to those who find themselves at a disadvantage in the society they live in. These include but are not exclusively the homeless, those recovering from an addiction, the long-term unemployed, those living in poverty or living with a disability and employment schemes.
Partners Foundation
Now, in a post-COVID world, the Foundation continues its hard work to provide aid to colleagues who may be experiencing personal hardship or are in need of financial assistance.
The Partners Foundation is there for everyone within the Domino’s family – whether you’re a store Team Member who makes, bakes or delivers the pizza, a Supply Chain Colleague who produces our fresh dough and delivers it to stores, or one of our Head Office team supporting the stores.
Teenage Cancer Trust
Teenage Cancer Trust offers unique care and support, designed for and with young people. We fund specialised nurses, youth workers and hospital units in the NHS, so young people have dedicated staff and facilities to support them throughout treatment.
We run events for young people with cancer to help them regain independence and meet other young people going through something similar.
And we provide easy-to-understand information about every aspect of living with cancer as a young person.
